If you have your USB keys in BIOS marked as "REMOVABLE" (which is normal by default) or for disk drives, marked as "HOT PLUG" or somethign like that (which is rare, but I personally have to ease up processes of drive cloning, which I do very often), then you most certainly hit the annoying problem, when all drives are shown twice:
- once under THIS COMPUTER
- and once again under separate item under navigation panel
Remedy?
Simply open registry editor:
regedit
...and DELETE these FOLDERS in left-hand panel of Registry Editor)
Code: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83}
Code: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83}
Done!
No reboot needed, changes effective immediatelly.
